| Advantages: Entering information is easy.
You can insert forgotten flights, neat & clean, unlimited amount of
area available. You can search and sort data, check currency, answer
insurance questions etc. It is difficult to loose if saved on
location and off site.
Disadvantage: You should not only save it to your computer, but
also online/off site. Most people have free web space with their
internet provider (like Charter) that can be used for this purpose.
You still need a paper logbook for endorsements and CFI signatures, but
not for day-to-day entrees.
You can purchase or get a free "database" type logbook from
several sources on line. (Search "pilot electronic
logbook") Database type logbooks have many advantages for
searching, notifications etc,

answering questions from insurance companies such as time in last year,
